What Happens During Teeth Cleaning

At Mehta Dental Clinic, your teeth cleaning session typically includes:

1. Initial Oral Examination
   We assess your teeth, gums, and oral tissues (including checking for early signs of decay or gum disease).
   
2. Scaling (Plaque & Tartar Removal)
   Using ultrasonic and/or hand scaling tools, we gently remove built-up plaque and hardened tartar from tooth surfaces and gum margins.
   
3. Polishing
   After scaling, your teeth are polished with a special paste to remove surface stains, make the teeth smoothen and reduce the rate of further plaque accumulation.
   
4. Flossing & Rinsing
   We floss between all your teeth to ensure areas in between are clean and rid of debris. Finally, we rinse with a disinfectant or fluoride rinse to refresh your mouth.

• Brush and floss well the night before

• Avoid eating or drinking highly pigmented foods/beverages (coffee, tea, etc.) for a few hours
